Daisy's Story

I made it to my house on Tuesday, and I lost everything.  I had 4 feet of water in my house.  I LOST EVERYTHING.  My furniture has already fallen apart, and the mold is 5 feet high.  It was worse than heartbreaking, and I just hope I can salvage my shell.  In my favor is the fact that my house is made (mostly I think) of cypress.  I have to save my shell as I will never have enough insurance money to rebuild with 12 foot ceilings [more]

Michele's Story

Well..I am crying while I type this.I cannot begin to tell you or even describe what I have witnessed. My heart is shattered and I am feeling as though it will always be that way. I did NOT want to leave New Orleans yesterday!! I cried and cried because I knew I was leaving behind thousands of trapped animals and felt as though I just hadn't done enough. I can't get the horrible images out of my head and I can't sleep. I knew this would happen to me as I was fully aware of what I was getting myself into but I just can't seem to find any peace.
